Gayle Goodman

Clyde, Gayle Miller Goodman, age 83, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2016 at Spicewood Cottages. Gayle was a native of Dillon County, South Carolina and a prior resident of Great Bend, Kansas. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Daisy Miller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Goodman, who died in 1998; two sisters, Maxine Coleman and Hazel Hildebrandt, and a brother, James Miller. Gayle was a vivacious and dynamic woman who never met a stranger. She was blessed with a green thumb and kept a beautiful flower garden and was an avid reader and great golfer. Gayle also started a women's stock club to educate them about the basic steps to successfully invest in the stock market. She was survived by a daughter, Juana Cooley and her husband, Scott, of Clyde; a stepson, Marc Goodman, and his wife, Becki, of Kansas; two brothers, Thomas Miller, and his wife, Judy, of Lumberton, North Carolina and Clyde Miller of Texas; seven grandchildren, Dyllan Cooley, Erin Neal, Merry Gilliot, Jeff M. Goodman, Jeff S. Goodman, Sam Goodman and Daniel Goodman; and eight great-grandchildren, Joslyn Barton, Bethany Neal, Darin Neal, Jacob Neal, Nicolas Gilliot, Eleonore Gilliot, Owen Gilliot and Evelyn Gilliot. Receiving of friends will be held at 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville.
