Gene Walls

Waynesville, Eugene "Gene" Newton Walls, 83, passed away on Tuesday, November 03, 2015 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Edgar Joseph and Ida Mae Rogers Walls and was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Billy Walls. Gene worked as a carpenter's helper and enjoyed being on the farm taking care of his animals. He also loved going to church and was an honorary member of Camp Branch Missionary Baptist Church. Eugene is survived by siblings, Carolyn Ledford and her husband, Raymond, Mary Ledford and her husband, Ray and Eddie Walls and his wife, Sharon, all of Waynesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 6, 2015 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Buford Rice officiating. Burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
