Geneva Robena Jaynes Jones Embler was born April 14, 1918 and passed away peacefully November 20, 2010 at the age of 92, in Houston, Texas. She was a school teacher, retail buyer and clerk with Belk Hudson at both Waynesville and Canton for many years. She was also a breast cancer survivor. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Jack (John Howard) Jones, Fred Embler, and close friend Glenn Bridges. Her daughter/stepdaughter/stepson: Frances Jaynes Heatherly Russell; Dorothy (Dot) Jones Jaynes Cable; Richard Jones and two grandsons. She is survived by daughters/stepdaughters: Ruth Jones Roach – Houston, TX, Brenda Jones – Houston, TX, Nancy Jones Aanerud – Casselbury, Fla, and Nettie Lee Jones Bolden – Winlock, Wash. Sons/stepson; David (ID) Jones, Harvey Jones, and John Jones, all of Waynesville; 26 grandchildren and many many great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack W. Collins and the Reverend Wayne Willett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 90 Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716 or to one's favorite charity.
