Geneva Sutton Hall, age 92, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2012 at The Homestead in Clyde. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Cornelius and Burdyne Messer Sutton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Doug Rathbone; her second husband, Letch Hall, who died in 1988; a grandson, Kevin Rhinehart, who died in 2004; five sisters, Effie Hall, Bonnie Frady, Ollie Poe, Arletha Watts, and Elsie Hyatt; and two brothers, Lowery and Everett Sutton. She and her first husband owned the Phillips 66 gas station formerly located on Radio Hill. Geneva was a member of Beulah Baptist Church and was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was kind hearted, honest, and loved the Lord and her family unconditionally. She will be sadly missed by one daughter, Bobbie Ann Blazer of Canton; a son, Eldon Hall and his wife, Brenda, of Canton; three grandchildren, Krista Failen of Clyde, Stephen Hall and his wife, Nina, and David Hall and his wife, Stacy, all of Vestavia Hills, Alabama; six great-grandchildren, Adam Rhinehart of Canton, Nathan, Mary, Jon, Amanda, and Melissa Hall, all of Alabama ; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Beulah Baptist Church with the Reverend Barry Clark and her son, Reverend Eldon Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beulah Baptist Church, 483 Sunset Circle, Canton, NC 28716.
