Geneva Pressley

Geneva Watson Pressley, age 88, died Tuesday, February 19, 2008, at Haywood Regional Medical Center. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Bazz and Ada Sheppard Watson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jennings Pressley, who died in 1965; two sons, Larry Dale and R. J. Pressley; a brother, George Watson; and a sister, Hilda Trull. She retired from Kmart in 1982 with 15 years of service as a sales clerk. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. Geneva loved working cross-word puzzles, crocheting, and reading. She is survived by two sons, Wayne C. Pressley and his wife, Jackie, of Clyde and Danny K. Pressley and his wife, Marlene, of Canton; a sister, Berlin Singleton of Clyde; two brothers, Howard Watson and his wife, Delia, and Carroll Watson all of Canton; four grandchildren, Eric Pressley of Tampa, FL, Brandon Pressley, Tammy Gibson, and Pam James all of Canton; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2008, at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Virgil Holloway officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery, Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
