Geneva Trusler

November 11, 1916 — April 24, 2017

Asheville, Geneva Muenchow Trusler, age 100, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 24, 2017 at the Givens Estate. A native of Helena, Montana she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Hannah Gessner Muenchow. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John J. "Jack" Trusler, who passed away in 1998; and one brother, E.D. Muenchow. Geneva was raised in the plains of Montana until the young age of seven, whereupon she moved to Falls Creek, Wisconsin meeting her beloved husband, Jack. Geneva was a consummate mother and supportive wife. She was soft spoken, patient, and selfless endearing her to all she met. She was a resident of Givens Estates in Asheville, NC for almost 13 years. Geneva is survived by two daughters, Sandra Nowalk, and her husband, Carl, of Aurora, Colorado and Barbara Upton, and her husband, Bill, of Waynesville; four grandchildren, Daniel and David Nowalk, Julie Macinski and Marc Upton; and four great-grandchildren, Ashley Nowalk and David Nowalk, Jr., Phelan Nowalk, and Emmy Upton. A celebration of Geneva's life will be held at a at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Francis Cove United Methodist Church in Waynesville. A reception will follow the service.
