Genevie Hall

July 29, 1925 — November 17, 2009

Genevie Nannie McCreary Hall, age 84, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at her residence. A native of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Swann Bronson and Mary Etta Clark McCreary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister. She was a member of Morning Star United Methodist Church where she served as former treasurer of the UMW, prayer chain coordinator, a member of the Maxwell Sunday school class, and of the choir. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Thomas Green Hall, Sr.; two sons, Tommy Hall and his wife, Mary, and Robert Hall and his wife, Dennissa, all of Canton; two daughters, Annetta Andrews and her husband, Andy, of Durham, and Pattie Chastain and her husband, David, of Candler; five grandchildren, Sheila Zavaglia, Angela Chastain Tammy Irish, Allen Andrews, and Anthony Hall; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2009 at Morning Star United Methodist Church with Reverend Doug Love officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Memorials may be made to Morning Star Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 1746, Canton, NC 28716 or to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
