Geoffrey Allison

Waynesville, Geoffrey "Geoff" G. Allison, age 64, passed away April 10, 2010 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. Geoffrey was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and the son of the late Herbert Slater and Marjorie Dresser Allison. He was a United States Air Force Helicopter Pilot during the Vietnam War. Geoffrey was an inventor, craftsman, entrepreneur and mentor who touched many lives. Most will remember him for his wisdom and wonderful sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife, Beth Allison, of Waynesville; two daughters, Erica Thomas Slygh and her husband, Brian, of Taylorsville, Georgia and Ann-Marie Thomas of New York, New York; two grandchildren, Sierra and Cooper Slygh; two sisters, Sally Mayer and Mary Dikes; two brothers, Scott and Bill Allison, beloved nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the New Covenant Church with Reverend Nick Honerkamp officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
