George Clark

August 30, 1915 — April 17, 2011

George Washington Clark, age 95, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. A native of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Dallas and Maggie Revis Clark. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Virginia Holt Clark, who died in 2000 and his brothers. George was a United States Air Force veteran of World War II and was a member of Rocky Face Baptist Church. He is survived by one sister, Lucy Clark; one brother, Carroll Clark; special caregivers, Angela and Steven Pless and their children, Nicci and Brett, who cared for George over the past several years; and several special neighbors. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2011 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Donnie Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
