George Hudson

George William "Bill" Hudson, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals. Born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, Bill lived most of his life in Canton but also resided 18 years in Davenport, Iowa. He was a son of the late Lucius E. Hudson, Sr. and Mildred Clontz Hudson Singleton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lucius E. Hudson, Jr. Bill was an active member of the Pigeon River Masonic Lodge # 386 AF&AM where he served as past Master and was a United States Navy veteran. He had a great sense of humor, great personality, and was loved by all. Bill loved his family and supported them throughout all their endeavors, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judith Ann Pruett Hudson; two sons, William Derek Hudson and his wife, Andrea, and Ward Thomas Hudson, all of Bethel; four daughters, Georgann Hudson Cusak and her husband, Robert, of Bettendorf, Iowa, Jennifer Hudson Hardage and her husband, Ronny, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Rachel Hudson and her husband, Tim Fanning, of Bethel, and Rebecca Hudson Murphy and her husband, Tom, of Canton; a brother, Carl Hudson and his wife, Martha, of Canton; a sister, Mickey Hudson Harris and her husband, Tom, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Matt Pruett and Pastor Ronny Hardage, son-in-law, officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 until 5:45 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children – Greenville, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
