George Kerslager

Waynesville, George Joseph Kerslager, age 81, of Sherman Way, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his family. George was born in Rice Lake, Wisconsin, he had resided in Punta Gorda, Florida; California for 20 years and Illinois until moving to Haywood County in 2005. He was the son of the late George Joseph, Sr. and Lyla Bautch Kerslager. George retired from 3M Corporation as a Sales Representative with 35 years of service. His life was surrounded by his love of water especially boating. He truly enjoyed engaging people in conversation and was a phenomenal problem solver. George also enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends in their RV. He was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church. Above all George was extremely devoted to his family whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan Mae Kerslager; two sons, Bruce Kerslager and his wife, Gaye Gulick Kerslager, of Corydon, IN. and Rick Kerslager of Meadow Vista, CA; a daughter, Karyn Kaschalk and her husband, Robert, of Berea, OH; and five grandchildren; Jenna Ruth Gross and her husband, Paul, Forrest George Kerslager; Kalina Marie Druschel and her husband, Michael and Amanda Lee and Kaleb Edward Kaschalk. A Celebration of Life and Sharing of Memories Gathering will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at their home 81 Sherman Way, Waynesville.
