Georgetta Kyle

Canton-Georgetta B. Kyle, 33 Ballew Street, went to be with her Lord on Monday, July 7, 2003. Born in Buncombe County April 3, 1922 on the Biltmore Estate, she had lived the past 56 years in Haywood County. She graduated from Biltmore high School in 1939.

She was employed by three retail stores as a shoe clerk, Raiff's Dept. Store, John Graham Store and Hudson's Dept. Store. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church for the past 53 years. She served there as Sunday School teacher, Church secretary, Choir member and various positions in the Women's Missionary Union.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace Hopkins Baity and Margaret Evelyn Phillips Baity and a brother Burgin W. Baity.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, L.O. Kyle. She is also survived by her six children and their spouses, Gail and Jerry Moore of Brevard, Ellen and Bruce Moore of Canton; George Kyle of Corpus Christi, TX; Susan and Jim Taylor of Pensacola, FL; Anne and Stan Riddle of Clyde, NC; and Michael Kyle of Canton. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, Donald, Curtis, Brian, Perry and Andy Moore. Kyla Rich, Greg and Sean Kyle, Kym Langevine, Allen Taylor, Sara Hawthorne, Faith Kyle, Ryan and Jared Riddle. She leaves 14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are 3 brothers Fred Baity of Concord, NC; Earl Baity of Waynesville, NC; Bill Baity of Etowah, NC, and one sister, Lucille McCarson of Asheville, NC.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2003 at Beulah Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday, July 10, at 2:00 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church where the body will remain until the service. Reverend Dr. Virgil Holloway and Reverend Curtis L. Moore will conduct the service. Grandsons will be pallbearers. Burial will be at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road.
