Georgie Henson

Waynesville-Georgie Clyde Moffitt Henson, age 93, a long time resident of Waynesville, passed away on Friday, April 01, 2005 at Blake Hospital in Bradenton, FL. She was living with her son, Sam, at the time of her death. A native of Macon County, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Alene Donaldson Moffitt. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Mr. J. J. Henson, who died in 1991. Mrs. Henson was the owner of Clyde's Beauty Shoppe and a founding member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Henson is survived by three daughters, Coretta Blanchette, of Winston-Salem, NC, Mary H. Leigh of Cape Coral, FL, Georgie Hartman of Fairview, NC; two sons, James M. Henson of Eustis, FL and Samuel M. Henson of Bradenton, FL; two sisters, Agnes Scott and Evelyn Watson, both of Brevard, NC; five grandchildren, Leighton and Alene Blanchette, Lamona Leigh-Katzenberger, Patrick L. and David A. Henson; and two great grandchildren, Clyde and Miranda Katzenberger. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2005 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Homes and Cremation Services with Pastor Larry Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
