Gerald Mooney

Gerald Waldo Mooney, age 89 died Sunday, April 13, 2003 at Silver Bluff Nursing Home.

He was a native of Haywood County and the son of the late Jesse and Nellie McCracken Mooney. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Carver Mooney who died January 19, 2003.

He retired from the United States Navy as a C.P.O. and Champion International.

He is survived by two step daughters, Pam Smathers and her husband, Jimmy of Canton and their son, Shawn Smathers and Donna McBride of Georgia and her children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 15th at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Perry Hines officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
