Geraldine Bayne

Canton, Geraldine Shook Bayne, age 98, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at Autumn Care. A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Joe Vance Shook and Beulah Love Long Shook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Katy Love Shook Hamby, of Waynesville and her brother, Jack Robert Shook, of Texas. She was a retired school teacher for the Haywood County School System, teaching at Bethel Elementary School for many years. She is survived by a niece, Patty Bromenschenkel (Walt) of Cheyenne, Wyoming and one nephew, David Joe Sanders (Brenda) of Greenville, North Carolina; great niece, Heather; great nephew, David; and great-great niece, Flemming. No services are planned.
