Geraldine Williams

"1932 – 2013" Canton – Geraldine Marie Pace Williams, age 81, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at The Homestead. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was a daughter of the late Early Alexander and Birdie Mae Neal Pace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Spurgeon Williams, who died in 1997; a son, Raymond Manuel Williams; three sisters; and six brothers. Geraldine was a member of West Canton Baptist Church and loved to read, cook, and make sure that everyone had something to eat. She dearly loved each and every member of her family. She is survived by a daughter, Gail Heathman and her husband, Paul, of Waynesville; a son, Steve Williams and his wife, Pam, of Maggie Valley; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She leaves many nieces and nephews and their families to cherish her memory, especially her devoted "sister" Juanita Watson and her son Johnny. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Jonathan Blaylock officiating. Burial will follow at New Cruso Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
