Geraline Jones

Canton – Geraline Summey Jones, 85, passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Haywood Regional Medical Center.

Geraline was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Paul Edward and Vivian Caldwell Summey.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph McCurry, who died in 1965; her second husband, Carl Jones, who died in 2007; two brothers, Mick Summey and Don Milner; and one sister, Edwina Clark.  Geraline was a faithful, lifelong, and involved member of West Canton Baptist Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and was a very good cook.

She is survived by two sons, Eddie McCurry and wife, Kathy, of Fletcher and Danny Jones and wife, Sheila, of Clyde; four grandchildren, Cole McCurry and wife, Braedy, Katie Fournier and husband, Andrew, Blake Jones and wife, Jessica, and Jessica Smith and husband, John; and nine great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Jeff Holder and Reverend Chris Willett officiating.  Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Canton Baptist Church Maintenance Fund, 75 Lowe Street, Canton, NC  28716.
