Germaine Courchene

March 14, 1926 — July 15, 2014

Maggie Valley – Germaine Rita Maisonneuve Courchene, age 88, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at her summer residence. A native of Windsor, Ontario Canada, she was the daughter of the late Edmond and MarieAnge Lamarche Maisonneuve. She was a graduate of the University of Ottawa Canada and received a degree in Education. A devoted wife and mother, she cherished her role as a homemaker. Germaine possessed quiet dignity and elegance. Her smile and gentle heart will be missed by all. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Luc Courchene; three daughters, Diane Mitchell and her husband, Gary, of Niceville, Florida, Janet Little and her husband, Vince, of Boca Raton, Florida, and Lynne Keevan and her husband, Patrick, of Naples, Florida; a son, Paul Courchene and his partner, Jim Luckie, of Delray Beach, Florida; one brother, John Maisonneuve, of Montreal Quebec, Canada; and seven wonderful grandchildren; Gregory, Erica and Carolyn Mitchell, Monica and Haley Little and Danielle and Allison Keevan. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 18, 2014 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Father Richard Benonis officiating. The family will host a reception immediately following in the James Room of the Wells Events and Reception Center. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association Florida Gulf Coast, 14010 Roosevelt Blvd, Suite 709, Clearwater FL 33762.
