Gladys Dills

Waynesville, Gladys Irene Dills, age 71, of Children Street, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Mission Campus. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late Derry and Gurley Sitton Rhinehart and was also preceded in death by a brother, Sam Rhinehart and one sister, Iola Hance. She worked at Ashley's Hat Factory and the Salvation Army and attended Rocky Branch Baptist Church. Gladys enjoyed singing gospel music, decorating, and flowers. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Roy Dills; two daughters, Jackie Irene Dills (Thomas Mooney) of Clyde and Janet "Tootie" Dills of Waynesville; two sons, Roy "Pooch" Dills (Sheila) of Canton and Randel Dills of Clyde; five sisters, Patricia Mull, Georgia Earley, Eva Williams, and Mary Phillips, all of Waynesville, and Sally Brown of Missouri; two brothers, Michael and Robert Rhinehart of Clyde; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, 2012 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Rhinehart and Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
