Gladys Ledford

Waynesville, Gladys Emma Ledford, age 88, of Sulphur Springs Road, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012 at her residence. She was a native of Kittery, Maine and had lived in Bacliff, TX until moving to Haywood County in 1965. She was the daughter of the late Clifton and Almedia Carroll Ricker and was also preceded in death by her husband, Neal David Ledford who passed away April 5, 1993; four brothers, Howard, Carroll, Forrest and Donald, and two sisters; Margaret Gerrish and Evelyn Bonner. She is survived by five daughters, Margaret Jones, Patricia Dewitt , Joy Lynn McFarland and her husband Mike, Cheryl Roten and Carol Bolden and her husband Gary, all of Waynesville; one son, Neal D. Ledford, Jr., of Waynesville; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes. Mr. Mike McFarland will officiate. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers will be Steve Ledford, Charles Derrick, David Roten, Gary Bolden and Kevin Dixon.
