Gladys Murray

Gladys Cogburn Murray, age 86, passed away on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Asheville Health Care. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Boyd and Jenny Cogburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marcell Harden Murray, who died in 1994. She was the owner of Country Casuals Clothing Store. She is survived by a daughter, Judy Murray Councill and her husband, Michael, of Black Mountain; a sister, Betty Holland of Canton; three grandchildren, Jarrod Councill and his wife, Lacey, of Anderson, South Carolina, Ryan Councill and his wife, Hope, of Black Mountain, and Dr. Hunter Councill and his wife, Tiffany, of Arden; and three great-grandchildren, MacKenzie, Mason, and Blake Councill. Friends may sign the register book at Wells Funeral Home in Canton on Wednesday, January 2nd. until Thursday, January 3rd . from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Private family services will be held.
