Gladys Robinson

Gladys Putnam Robinson, age 90, died Monday, August 21, 2006, at Pigeon Valley Rest Home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and the daughter of the late Joseph and Cora Pressley Putnam. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lucius Homer Robinson who died in 1989 and a grandson, Joseph Robinson. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, the Reverend Jack R. Robinson of Waynesville and Linville C. Robinson of Hendersonville; a sister, Reva Wiggins of Leicester; a brother, J. L. Putnam of Canton; two grandsons, Barry and Matthew Robinson; and a great-grandson, Curtis Scott Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2006, at the Canton chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Reverend Jack Robinson and Reverend Virgil Holloway officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence of Jack Robinson, 10 Estes Drive, Waynesville.
