Glenn Cunningham

April 28, 1933 — July 11, 2010

GLENN N. CUNNINGHAM Clyde, Glenn N. Cunningham, age 77, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Wid and Edna Williams Cunningham. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Ned, Tillman, and Garrett Cunningham; one sister, Mildred Miller; and two grandsons, Jamie Roland and Christopher King. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to hunt and fish. Glenn loved to play games with his children, and he adored his grandchildren. He treasured Christmas mornings because they were always special for Glenn and his family. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Katie Robinson Cunningham; three sons, Jimmy Lynn Cunningham and his wife, Lelia, Jackie Glenn Cunningham and his wife, Barbara, and Jerry Lee Cunningham and his wife, Pam; his three dolls, Kathy Cunningham Swanger and her husband, K.W., Pansy Diane Cunningham and Darlene Cunningham Lee and her husband, Johnny; one brother, Joseph Cunningham; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Alan Greene officiating. Burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday prior to service time. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 31 College Place, Suite D320, Asheville, NC 28801 or the Buchanan Cemetery Fund, 802 Allens Creek Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
