Canton - Glenn Pegram Parker, age 75, of the Beaverdam Community, died Sunday, August 19, 2007 at his residence. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and a son of the late Willie and Demie Parham Parker. He was preceded in death by one sister, Blanche Clontz and one daughter, Loretta Gail Parker, who died in 1961. Glenn was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church and had a special love for it. He enjoyed coon hunting, gardening and picking his banjo. To the world, he was one person, but to a wife and two daughters, he was the world. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Marie King Parker; two daughters, Kathy Hoglen and her husband, Neal and Colleen Jones and her husband, Randy, all of Canton; one sister, Ethel Jenkins and her husband, Bill, of Canton; one brother, Thomas Parker and his wife, JoAnn, of Canton; six grandchildren, Heather and Heath Hoglen, Sabrina Carver, Dusty, Amanda and Tianna Jones; three nieces; and three nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Beaverdam Baptist Church with the Reverend Gene Worley, Reverend Jack Scott and Reverend Harry Worley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.
