Waynesville-Glennie Phillips Green, age 88, of 252 Red Maple Drive, died Friday, October 5, 2007 at Smoky Mountain Health Care and Rehabilitation Center of Waynesville.<br><br>She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County and was the daughter of the late Robert and Fannie Cagle Phillips. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Green, who died in 2000; a daughter, Lois Robinson, a sister, Velma Silvers and two brothers, Bobby and Clifford Phillips and a grandson, Tommy Robinson. Glennie was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed growing dahlias, cactus and collecting porcelain dolls. <br><br>She is survived by two daughters, Linda Paxton and Mary Ellen Lowdermilk and her husband, Jack; a son L.J. Green; a sister, Ruth Parton all of Waynesville; three brothers, Wilson Phillips and his wife, Velma of Murphy, Howard Phillips and his wife, Sally Kate and Ed Phillips and his wife, Jeanette all of Waynesville; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren.<br><br>Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 8, 2007 in the chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville with Reverend Bobby Downs and Jerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home and at other times, at Linda's home.<br><br>Serving as pallbearers will be Maurice, Tim, Bryan and Matthew Chambers and Dylan and Darin Buchanan.<br><br>Memorials may be made to Haywood Community College Dahlia Garden Fund, 185 Freedlander Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.<br>
