Gloria West

Gloria Jean Ramsey West, age 60, of Newfound Road, died Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at her residence. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Virginia Green Ramsey and Jerome "J.W." Ramsey of Asheville. Gloria was a homemaker and a dedicated born again Christian. In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Frank "Papaw" West of Leicester; two sons and their wives, Nathan and Shelley West and David and Michelle West, all of Leicester; three sisters, Susan Reece of Leicester, Patricia Meadows of Asheville, and Janet Ramsey of Burnsville; three brothers, Gary Ramsey of Houston, TX, Keith Ramsey of Arden, and Ronald Ramsey of Leicester; two grandchildren, Rachel Lee and Ethan Clifford West. Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Roy McPeters and Reverend Billy Clark officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery in Newfound.
