Candler - Goree McFee Wilson, 94, passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at St. Joseph Campus of Mission Hospitals.

A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Lennie McCoy and Ida Mae Jackson McFee. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carroll "Joe" Wilson; two sisters; two brothers; and one grandson.

Goree was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Browns View United Methodist Church. Her interests included quilting where she enjoyed quilting for members of her family and her church.

She is survived by a daughter, Ann Carol Wilson Reynolds and husband, Reverend Ted Reynolds of Canton; three sons, Ronald Dan Wilson and wife, Kathy, of Candler; Donald Bruce Wilson and wife, Lorna, of Youngsville, and Robert Carroll Wilson, Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Waynesville; two brothers, Jake McFee of Charlotte and Joe McFee of Burnsville; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and three caregivers who also are family, Julianne Kuykendall, Kim Clement, and Louise Hewett.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Ridgeway Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack W. Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
