Grace Melton

Waynesville, Grace Bost Melton, age 72, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 29, 2008 at her residence after declining health. She was a native of Jackson County and had lived in Haywood County for 45 years. She was the daughter of the late Beulah and John Bost and was also preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Melton, who died in 1987; and a brother, Bud Bost. Grace attended Southwestern Community College where she later became an instructor in the Cosmetology Department and was owner and operator of Kut-n-Kurl Hair Salon. She was a member of Hazelwood Baptist Church and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Alpha Master. She is survived by her daughter, Connie M. Painter and her husband, Terry, of Maryville, TN; a sister, Mary Alice Shuler and her husband, Don, of Sylva and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, 2008 in the Chapel of Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville with Reverend Charles Dean officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Buddy, Brad and Danny Melton, Jody Shuler, Brandon Wilson, Charlie Lanning and Bryan Smith. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
