Waynesville, Grace Wilson Rogers, age 67, of 32 Colony Lane, died at her residence on Friday, October 17, 2008 with her family around her. Born in Swain County, she had resided in Haywood County most all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Lassie Gasaway Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Reno, Jewel, Gene, Dean, and Charles Wilson; and one sister, Beth Godfrey; and son-in-law, Doug Dragoo. Grace was employed by WNC Paving for 32 years, retiring in 2007. She was a member and former pianist at Grandview Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Wallace Rogers; one son, Randy Rogers and his wife, Sherri, of Waynesville; one daughter, Cammie Dragoo, of Mooresville, NC; one sister, Dell Hawkins, and her husband, Bill, of Leicester, NC; one brother, Arthur Wilson and his wife, Stella, of Orange Park, FL; and four grandchildren, Mitch and Megan Mull, Dustin Carver, and Farris Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2008 at Grandview Baptist Church with Reverend Wayne Willett, Reverend Tony Sisk, and Dr. Jack Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Jim Rogers, Jerry Pace, Larry Rathbone, Mitch Mull, Dustin Carver, and Raymond Brooks. Honorary pallbearers will be co-workers at WNC Paving, Curve & Gutter. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Music Ministries of Grandview Baptist Church, 1562 Allens Creek Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
