Grace Schmucker

Maggie Valley, Grace "Gracie" Walker Schmucker, age 93, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at her residence. A native of Norfolk, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Cptn. P.P. Walker and Elizabeth Sawyer Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Schmucker, who died in 1984, and one daughter, Grace Mozelle Jensen Howland. Gracie was a lifelong fan and supporter of the theater. She is survived by one grandson, Chance B. Jensen, of Phoenix, Arizona; two great granddaughters, Alexandra and Victoria Jensen, also of Phoenix, Arizona; her niece, Elizabeth Penelope Morella Walker, of Maggie Valley; and her nephew, Joseph John Winfield Sudderth, of Waynesville. A graveside memorial and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 29, 2010 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk, Virginia. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home is in charge. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the HART Theater, 250 Pigeon Street, Waynesville, NC 28786.
