Grace Swanger

Grace Wright Swanger, age 93, died on November 1, 2009 at home. A native of Haywood County, she was the daughter of the late John Melvin and Dottie Edwards Lundy Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert R. Swanger, who died in May, 2000. Also known by her friends and family as Pat, Mrs. Swanger was a member of Central Steele Creek Presbyterian Church. She is survived by sisters-in-law Betty Warren Swanger of Rock Hill, SC and Genevieve Swanger Reeves of Canton, NC; nieces Beth W. Bradley, Violet Ballard, Gayle Ammons, and Linda Bolden; nephews Rufus Donaldson, Gene Donaldson, Dwight Donaldson, Roger Donaldson, Gary Swanger, Dan Swanger, Jim Swanger, and Martin Reeves. She is also survived by a number of great and great, great nieces and nephews, about whom she spoke fondly and often. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 5 at 2:00 p.m. at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens, Clyde, NC.
