Grace West

Canton-Grace Jones West, age 85, of Crossroad Hill was called to our heavenly home on Thursday, November 10, 2011. A native of Laurens County South Carolina, she had spent most of her life in Canton, NC. Grace was the daughter of the late Elbert Vincent and Lora Ethel Jones. She is preceded in death by husband, William H. "Bill" West, who passed away in 2004; a brother, Lloyd George Jones; three sisters, Lucille and Agnes Jennings and Mary Ellen Smathers; and her grandmother, Addie Ellen Jones. Grace was a member of North Canton Baptist Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling in the coffee leagues at Midway Lanes. She is survived by two daughters, Diane West Wilson and her husband, William "Robbie" and Sandra West Phillips and her husband, Lindon; one son, Gary "Rooster" Lloyd West and his wife, Sherri, all of Canton; sister-in law, Tup Jones of Waynesville; six grandchildren, Lora and Jonathan Henderson, Karen and Joey Walters, Judd West Wilson, Daisy and Kevin Mann, Jordan Elizabeth West, her fiancée, Brandon Godman and Brenna West; and six great grandchildren, Natalie Grace Henderson, Olivia Henderson, Leah Walters, Gracie Hodges, Wilson and Sarah Mann; and special friends, Christian Haynie and Tyler Ball. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Homes & Cremations services with Reverend Keith Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
