Canton, Grady Hershel Warren, age 81 died Friday, August 21, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was a son of the late Garland L. and Pearl Reece Warren. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Claude Warren and four sisters; Genevive Vance, Donnie Inman, Tulon Rogers and Beatrice McFalls. He retired from Champion International with 42 years of service in 1987 and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Grady was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his gardening and farming, family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mildred Janney Warren of Canton; two sons, Jeffery Dale Warren and his wife Bonnie and Ronald Janney and his wife Carolyn, all of Canton; three sisters, Bonnie Whittaker of Canton; Rose Ann Stinnett and her husband Charles of Dothan, AL; Peggy Sue Boykin and her husband Bill of Aiken, SC; three brothers, G. L. Warren and his wife Winferd and Mack Warren and his wife Aleese, all of Canton; and Ray Warren and his wife Sarah of Clyde; 6 grandchildren; Michile Green, Loretta Ewart, William Warren, Darin, Dennis and David Clift and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009 at Bethel Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Roy Kilby officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. Monday at the church prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Eddie Norton, Martin Long, Kelley Warren, Willie Warren, Darin Clift and Teddy Inman.
