Groce Cagle

August 30, 1913 — April 18, 2006

Waynesville-Groce Larkin Cagle, age 92, of 1962 Hemphill Road, died on Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at the Brian Center. A native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Jesse L. and Artie Moody Cagle. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ezzie Sutton Cagle, who died in 2001. He is survived by two sons, Richard Cagle of Stanfield, NC, and Garland Cagle and his wife, Bobbie, of Waynesville; three daughters, Beatrice Bolin and her husband, Clifford, of Waynesville, Mary Young and her husband, Wade, of McDonald, TN, and Doris Ann Hummer and her husband, Francis, of Lenoir City, TN; two sisters, Vanita Messer and Edna Newkirk; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2006 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Couser officiating and music will be provided by Craig Summers, HRMC Hospice music therapist. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be given to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
