Clyde-Grover Cleveland ''Cleve'' Ewart, age 90, of McClure Cove, died Saturday, September 13, 2003 at Memorial Mission Hospital.
He was a native of Haywood County and was the son of the late Robert John and Emma Martha Jenkins Ewart. He was also preceded in death by ten brothers, Carl Jenkins, Lawson, Glenn, Fred Oliver, Bill, Monroe, Hardy, Venson, Paul Erwin, and Stanberry Ewart, and by a sister, Dora Pearl Davenport.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Selma Marie Fisher Ewart; two daughters, Mildred Ewart Rogers and her husband, Johnny of Waynesville, and Letha Ewart Hannah and her husband, Roger of Waynesville; four sons, Grover James Ewart and his wife Hilda of Waynesville, Daniel Mark Ewart of Gainesville, GA, William Junior Ewart of Waynesville, and Fred Lee ''Freddie'' Ewart and his wife, Brenda of Lenior, NC; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2003 at the Fellowship Baptist Church, of which he was a member. The Reverend Kenneth Rhinehart, Reverend Wayne Carson, and Reverend Anthony Greene will officiate. Burial will follow at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park. The family will receive from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, September 14, 2003 at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
The pallbearers will be Danny Ewart, Darrell Rogers, Barron Rogers, Ronnie Fisher, Tim McCracken, and Lane Arrowood.
