It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Guy "Dickie" Richard Pruett, age 79, of Candler, North Carolina, who peacefully departed this life on January 31, 2025, at Mission Hospital after a brave fight against cancer.

He was born to Guy William Pruett and Ethel Deaver Pruett, June 5th, 1945. He was proud U.S. Army veteran, he served his country with honor and dedication, embodying the values of service and sacrifice. Dickie was employed for a number of years with American Enka Corporation of Candler, North Carolina. Upon his retirement, Dickie continued to work and became employed with BASF and Honeywell R&D in Anderson, South Carolina.

Dickie's love for the great outdoors was unmatched. He found his greatest joys hiking through the mountains, fishing in quiet streams, and simply embracing all that nature had to offer. Horseback riding into the Smokies with his dear friends was one of his favorite yearly adventures. He also loved waterfalls. Dickie was a steadfast friend, and a loving family member.
