Gwendolyn Allen

Valley, Gwendolyn Ruth Cassidy Allen, age 77, passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Mission Hospitals Memorial Campus. Gwendolyn was a native of Ontario, Canada and had resided in Haywood County since 1999. She was the daughter of the late Verner and Alma McNeely Cassidy. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Eric Raymond Allen, who died in 2009 and an infant child, Barbara. She is survived by two sons, Geoffrey Michael Christopher Allen and his wife, Michelle, of Cullowhee and David Jonathan Stephen Allen and his wife, Michele, of Wesley Chapel, Florida; three brothers, Keith Cassidy of Scarborough, Ontario, Gerald Cassidy of Newmarket, Ontario and Allen Cassidy of Ottawa, Ontario and three grandchildren, Morgan, Keegan and Zoe Allen. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the residence. Memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
