Gwyn Bowles

Waynesville, Gwyn Morgan Bowles, age 62, of East Street, died on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Haywood Regional Medical Center. A native of Asheville, NC, she was the daughter of Helen Caudle Morgan OF Yadkinville, NC and the late Herbert Morgan. Since 1975, Gwyn had worked as an RN at both the Haywood County Hospital and Haywood Regional Medical Center, retiring in 2003. She was an active member of Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church where she was in the church choir. She was also involved in the local chapter of the American Cancer Society's "Relay for Life." In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 33 years, Billy Bowles; a son, Joel Greene and his wife, Kathi, of Waynesville; one sister, Libba Wagner and her husband, Bert, of Lexington, NC; one brother, Frank Terry Morgan and his wife, Sue, of the Bethel community; two grandchildren, Keri and Cody Greene, both of Waynesville; and four nephews, Joshua and Paul Morgan and Christopher and Zach Wagner. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Wells Funeral Home of Waynesville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 90 Stiles Road, Canton, NC 28716 or Elizabeth Chapel United Methodist Church, 98 Elizabeth Chapel Road, Waynesville, NC 28786.
