Harold Hamby

Canton-Harold Dean Hamby-54 of 282 Phillipsville Loop died Monday, December 30, 2002 at his residence.

He was born in Avery County and had resided in Haywood County since 1977. He was a son of the late John and Hazel Turbyfill Hamby and was also preceded in death by 2 sisters, Ruby Clawson and Christine Hamby and 1 brother, Kenneth Hamby.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Wright Hamby, one daughter, Jordan Carris Hamby of Clyde, one son, Jonathan Trent Hamby of Canton, four sisters, Shirley Bear and Frankie Harmon both of Elk Park and Wanda Hicks and Barbara Townsend both of Banner Elk, 6 brothers, Ricky, Dayton, Joseph and Keith Hamby all of Banner Elk, J.C. Hamby of Newland and R. D. Hamby of Elk Park.

No services are planned at this time however the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday January 2, 2003 at Wells Funeral Homes of Canton.
