Waynesville-Harold "Hal" Parks, age 79, of Brandywine Road, died on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Memorial Mission Hospital. A native of Warren, RI, he was the son of James E. and Carrie Catherine DeNardo Parks and was also preceded in death by a brother, James Parks. He received his degree in Journalism at Louisiana State University and worked 33 years in broadcasting. He was a Sales Representative for Spanish International Network and a member of Mayflower Society and Hugenot Society. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lilian Parks; five daughters, Kathryn Johnston and husband, Vernon, of Dallas, GA, Peggy Feldman of Roanoke, VA, Diane Parks of Auburn, WA, Susan Meyer and husband, Eric, of Miami, FL, and Laura Murray and husband, Steve, of Seattle, WA; one son, Richard Parks of Janesville, WI; and eight grandchildren. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will follow at Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, DC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Haywood Regional Medical Center Hospice, 560 Leroy George Drive, Clyde, NC 28721.
