HARRY L. JOHNSON
Waynesville-Harry Lee Johnson, age 64, of 2418 Rabbit Skin Road, died Sunday, February 23, 2003 at his residence.
A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Walter and Lois Matthews Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, June Spencer Johnson, who died in 1986; a brother, Richard Johnson; and a sister, Catherine Burch. He retired from Plemmons Plumbing in 2002 after 42 years of employment. He was a former member of the Clyde Lions Club and a member of Crabtree Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Hazel Greene Hoglen Johnson; a son, Michael Johnson and his wife, Tammy, of Clyde; a stepson, Marty Hoglen, and his wife, Teresa, of Dillard, Georgia; two stepdaughters, Cathy Gray, and her husband, Charlie, of Clyde and Ronda Justice of the Crabtree community; three sisters, Nellie Almond, and her husband, Fred, and Doris Powell and her husband, Sam, both of Clyde, and Clara Green of Tignall, Georgia; a brother, Ray Johnson, of Canton; two grandsons, Brian and Tyler Johnson; and four stepgranddaughters, Monica Gray, Natalie, and Revonda Hoglen, and Kristin Justice.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Max Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens in Clyde. Pallbearers will be Billy Johnson, Phillip Almond, Sammy Neil Powell, and Jefferey, Gary, and Kenny Greene. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at the funeral home and at other times, the family will be at the residence on Rabbit Skin Road.
