Harry Mitchell

Bryson City, Harry Phelps Mitchell, age 70, of Hughes Branch Road, passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at MedWest Haywood. A native and resident of Haywood County for 35 years, he most recently lived in Bryson City. He was the son of the late Branner and Ella Mae Trammel Mitchell. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Gene Mitchell of Virginia, Robert Mitchell of Fayetteville, NC and Frederick Mitchell of Bryson City; sisters, Grace Henderson of Charlotte, NC; Elizabeth Ann Mitchell and Helen Pappajohn both of CA. He was employed at Fairfax United Methodist Church for more than 20 years, retiring in 1989. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Thelma Mitchell; a niece, Anne Overstreet; and nephew, Michael Mitchell. A private graveside service was held.
