Harry Reed

Waynesville-Harry Lee Reed, age 73, died Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at St. Joseph Hospital in Asheville.

He was a native of Bellview, Missouri and had lived most of his life in Illinois and Florida. He was the son of the late Everette and Anna Helen Womble Reed. He was retired vice president and manager of R. A. Harrell Distributors in Tampa, Florida with 35 years service. Since his retirement he had served as a volunteer at Haywood Regional Medical Center. He was a member of St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Maggie Valley and will be remembered by his family as a good husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rita Fuesting Reed; three daughters, Rose Marie Clark, and her husband, Thomas, of Riverview, Florida, Barbara Lee Norton and her husband, Craig, of Lutz, Florida, and Sandra Reed Kmack, and her husband, Joseph, of Brandon, Florida; two sons, Harry Lee Reed, Jr. and his wife, Pam, of Lutz, Florida and Robert David Reed and his wife, Kristi, of Temple Terrace, Florida; two sisters, Edith Hillman of Bellview, Missouri and Alice Russell of Farmington, Missouri; one brother, Gene Reed, of Bellview, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Maggie Valley with Father Frank Doyle officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Arcadia Valley Memorial Park in Arcadia, Missouri under the direction of Bryson Funeral Home, Pilot Knob, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2003 at Wells Funeral Home in Waynesville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Margaret's Catholic Church, P.O. Box 1359, Maggie Valley, NC 28751 or to one's favorite charity.
