Harry Stroupe

September 23, 1926 — October 25, 2004

Candler-Harry Alexander Stroupe, age 78, died Monday, October 25, 2004 at the Memorial Mission Hospital Campus. He was the son of the late Elmo and Hattie Cole Stroupe and was preceded in death by a son, Joe Stroupe. He retired from Champion International with over 41 years of service. He was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. He was a United States Navy veteran. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lois West Stroupe, one daughter Sandra Snoddy of Hendersonville, one son Jim Stroupe and his wife Mary of Debary, FL, daughter-in-law Debbie Stroupe of Candler, three sisters Mary Rogers of Waynesville, Louise Chapman and Ruby Taylor both of Candler and 4 grandchildren, Eddie Snoddy, Kris , Misty and Jessica Stroupe. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 28, 2004 at Ridgeway Baptist Church with Reverend Jack W. Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the church prior to the service.
