Hascue Lenard Haynes, age 91, passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2013. Hascue was born January 1, 1922, to the late Henry Patterson and Tilda Payne Haynes. His kindness and compassionate spirit touched the lives of many individuals throughout his life. A strong spiritual walk was always a priority; sharing his personal witness with others along the way. Hascue was a graduate of Fines Creek High School, and attended Blanton's Business College. Most of his working years were spent in the wholesale and retail grocery industry. He worked with several companies during this time, and retired from Thomas and Howard in 1984. He is survived by Ruby Ledford Haynes, his beloved wife of 68 years; one brother, Cline Haynes of Midland, Texas; and one son, Lenard V. Haynes. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Victor and Michael Haynes, and Melody Haynes Harrison (Jay); six great-grandchildren, Sara and Evan Flood, Dillon, Garrett, Lanae, and Austin Haynes; and one great-great-grandson, Spencer Ashbrook. He is also survived by four nieces and one nephew. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Lenard Haynes and Captain Susie Graf officiating. Music and songs will be provided by Betty Heatherly. Burial will follow at Fines Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers will be Howard Messer, Johnny and Tim Ramsey, Victor and Michael Haynes, and Evan Flood.
