Hazel Berg

Waynesville, Hazel Marie Foster Berg, 86, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at The Homestead. A native of Hot Springs, Arkansas she was the daughter of the late Cecil and Elsie Irene Myers Foster. In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by her husband, Bert K. Berg, who died in 1988; daughter, Suzanne Ruth Berg; and two brothers, Dallas and Jack Foster. Hazel proudly served her country in the United States Air Force. Hazel is survived by two sisters, Micky Johnson, of Santa Maria, California and Janice Lee, of Clyde; two nephews, Nick Kellas, and his wife, Donna, of Clyde and Mike Lee, and his wife, Dixie, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and one great-niece, Heidi LaGache, of Susanville, California. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, 2017 in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Private burial will follow at Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be to Disabled American Veterans (Local Chapter 89) P. O. Box 331 Canton, NC 28716.
