Hazel Boyd

Canton- Hazel Kathryn Boyd, age 87, died Monday, April 30, 2007 at Canton Christian Convalescent Center. She was a native of Haywood County and a daughter of the late Jimmy and Lilly Clark Ford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur L. Boyd who died in 1989 and twelve siblings. Hazel was of the Baptist faith and loved to read and paint in her spare time. She is survived by one sister, Ruby Conard of Canton; a niece and caretaker, Ada Wilson, and several other nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Old Thickety Cemetery with Reverend Eugene West officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at Wells Funeral Home of Canton. Memorials may be made to Canton Christian Convalescent Center, 27 North Main Street, Canton, NC 28716. At other times the family will be at Ruby Conard's residence.
