Hazel Carson

HAZEL GRACE CARSON, PIONEER AVIATRIX

Canton, NC-Hazel Carson, age 92, of Roseville, Michigan, passed away on October 19, 2003 in Canton, NC.

She was the daughter of Ada and Ralph McMinn who lived on Frazo Road. Hazel was a licensed nurse and was employed for 22 years by the City of Roseville Court and Water Department.

Hazel's loves were her grandsons, great granddaughter, friends, world travel, and reading. She supported causes to help children and the needy. She was the first woman to solo a plane at the Detroit City Airport.

Her husband, Sam Carson, an airline pilot died in a plane crash in 1946.

Her daughter, Nancy Keeran, of Waynesville, NC, three grandsons, Philip, John, and Andrew Farley; a great granddaughter, Ashleigh; and two brothers, Donald and William McMinn, survive her.

Memorial services will be held at a later date in Michigan.
