Hazel Crawford

Hazel Frizzell Crawford, age 64, of Why Worry Blvd., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 16, 2009 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was a native of Jackson County and had resided in Rogersville, Al for 18 years. She was a daughter of the late T. R. "Ted" and Ada Buchanan Frizzell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Elsie and Gladys Frizzell and one brother, JR Frizzell. She was an active member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church and a long-term member of Springfield Baptist Church in Rogersville, AL, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school, and Bible school. Hazel enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchild, reading, Bible study, music, and shopping for the children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed attending auctions with Sherman and working in sales for Biltmore Estate. Hazel loved life and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Sherman M. Crawford; a son, Michael M. Crawford and his wife, Cindy of Canton; a daughter, Tabatha C. Henson and her husband, Bret, of Canton; three sisters, Linda Michaels and her husband, Chuck, of Florida, Ruth Stamey and her husband, Ernest, of Clyde, and Faye Riddle and her husband, Harold, of Kingsport, TN; one brother, Dee Frizzell of Waynesville; six grandchildren, Brittany Warren and her husband, Will, Spencer and Seth Henson, Levi Crawford and his wife, Ashley, and Jasmine and Will Crawford; and one great-grandchild, Jade Crawford. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009 in the Canton Chapel of Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Edwards and Reverend Audie Bogus officiating. Burial will follow at Bon-A-Venture Cemetery on Old Clyde Road. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. Pallbearers will be Levi Crawford, Spencer and Seth Henson, Melvin Sutton, Will Warren, Roger Owen, Mark Crawford, and Avery Crawford. Honorary pallbearers will be Will Crawford and Daniel Edwards.
