Hazel Jones

Canton-Hazel Elliott Jones, age 88 of the Green Hill Community died Thursday, July 17, 2003 at her son's residence in Lilburn, GA.

She was the daughter of the late Julius L. and Carrie Coleman Elliott. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Luther Jones who died in 1957; three sisters, Willa Bell McElrath, Ina Penland and Marie Wilson and three brothers, Norman O., James M. and R. Frank Elliott.

She was a member of West Canton Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, George Jones and his wife, JoAnn of Lilburn, GA; two sisters, Mary Jo Cairnes and Frances K. Wright both of Canton; a brother, Wayne C. Elliott of Murphy; four grandchildren, Leeann Jannett, George Jones, Jr., Timothy Jones and Catherine Jones; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Kylee Jannett.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2003 at West Canton Baptist Church with the Reverend James Huey officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford/Ray Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Sunday at Wells Funeral Home of Canton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Canton Baptist Church Building Fund, 75 Lowe Street, Canton, NC 28716.
